Swaledale
One of the best dales for
walking with an extraordinary variety of scenery and industrial heritage
including Gunnerside Gill. Swaledale is not as over touristed as some
of the other areas presumably due to it's distance from large habitations.
The Gunnerside Gill walk makes use of the excellent Northern Dalesman

- Walk 1 - Gunnerside Gill- Keld - Muker -12 miles
- Walk 2 - Muker -Kisdon Hill - and the Keld Waterfalls - 5½ miles (a family walk- recommended)
- Walk 3 - Gunnerside to Reeth 6.5 miles - riverside linear walk
- Walk 4 - Hawes to Muker via Great Shunner Fell and the Pennine Way - 10 miles linear walk
- Walk 5 - Fremington Edge - 8 miles high level walk

Bus services are infrequent in Swaledale.
- LWB Swaledale Service 30 from Richmond to Keld[Mon to Sat]
- LWB demand responsive service 01 969 667 400 or 01 969 667 030 bookable 24hr in advance [Mon to Sat] - no service Sunday or BH
- LWB Dales Connect service will provide Sunday connection via Hawes - book 24 hr in advance or driver 0752 895 7451
- On Summer Sundays and
Bank Holidays Northern Dalesman Dalesbus 830 normally runs from Ingleton
to Richmond via Ribblehead, Hawes, Keld and Reeth although suspended
for 2023. However there will be a 831 service running from Middlesbrough
Darlington to Hawes and Ingleton- see www.dalesbus.org
for details.
