Due to the overall size
of Wharfedale I have split the area into two sections Upper
Wharfedale and Lower
Wharfedale (here), the dividing line being
just north of Grassington. The area of Ilkley
Moor is
included on a separate page. The area includes Grassington and Bolton
Abbey both of which can get very busy but some surprisingly under
walked areas can be found particular on the access areas each side of
Bolton Abbey.

- Walk 1- Bolton Abbey-Simon's Seat - 9.5 miles
- Walk 2 - Grassington -Yarnbury Mines - Hebden Gill - 7.5 miles
- Walk 3 - Grassington- Threshfield Moor - Bordley - Kilnsey - Conistone Circular - 12 miles
- Walk 4 - Barden Moor Circular - 11.5 miles
- Walk 5 - Bolton Park and Barden Fell Circular -5 miles - a family walk
- Walk
6 - Dalesway: Bolton Abbey to Grassington - 10.5 miles linear

- DalesBus service 59 provides a Saturday service between Skipton and Harrogate via Bolton Bridge
- Service 72 provides a daily service from Skipton to Grassington
- Service 72B provides a Mon - Sat services from Grassington NP Centre to Buckden [a 16 seater minibus]
- Service 74A provides a Mon Wed and Fri service from Ilkley to Grassington NP Centre [normally a 16 seater minibus]
- DalesBus 74 provides a summer Saturday service between York Harrogate Otley Ilkley and Grassington
- DalesBus 822 provides a summer Sunday and BHM service from York to Grassngton via Pateley Bridge
- Dalesbus 873/864 provides a Sunday and BHM service between Skipton and Ilkley serving Bolton Abbey Strid Woods and Embsay
- DalesBus 874 provides a Sunday and BHM service from Wetherby via Leeds Otley, Ilkley, to Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kettlewell and Buckden
- DalesBus 875 provides
a summer Sunday and BHM service from York to Hawes via Leeds Ilkley
Grassington and Kettlewell
- DalesBus 876 provides a summer Sunday and BHM service from Leeds to Hawes via Ilkley Grassington and Kettlewell
- Mainline M6 provides a frequent daily service from Burnley to Skipton and connects with the 72 to Grassington
- Northern Rail provide a frequent and fast train service from Leeds/ Bradford to Skipton and Ilkley -www.northernrailway.co.uk Dales Rambler tickets are available for combined bus and rail travel
