An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with  steep sided valleys, rock formations and remote moorland not as often frequented by walkers as some of the other dales. There are various starting points the main ones being Pateley Bridge, Middlesmoor or Scar House. There is excellent public transport access to Pateley Bridge via Harrogate and from further afield on Summer Sundays.

Transport : Bus/ train services

Service 24 runs Harrogate to Pateley Bridge every day

DalesBus service 75 runs Harrogate - Skipton via Blubberhouses on Saturdays

Please note that DalesBus 823/825 no longer runs to Upper Nidderdale

Northern Rail run regular trains services to Harrogate www.northernrailway.co.uk
